When Was Halo 3 Released?

Sunday, April 24th, 2011

On May 15, 2007 the information was published ” the Halo 3 release date would be September 25 in North America and the 26th in Europe. Halo 3 marked the third in a wildly popular series for the Xbox 360 called Halo. According to the vice president of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, Halo 3’s publication was more than just a video game release, it was the biggest media event of the year. He may just have been right.

The full history of Halo 3 actually has to start with the publication of the first game in the series ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’. In November, 2001, when Halo was first released, game consoles were somewhat of a joke as one-person shoot-em-up games. Sure, some games existed, but there weren’t the popular communities that the PC games in the genre had.

That all changed with Halo, in which players could fight aliens on foot and in vehicles, in order to complete objectives, while trying to uncover the secret of the Halo. Halo pioneered limiting the number of weapons a player could carry to two, which in turn, meant forcing the player to make strategic decisions.

People waited for the release of Halo 3 with baited breath. They awaited the continuation of the one-person, shoot-em-up combat format that had been dominant in the two former versions of Halo. Microsoft calls it the ‘Golden Triangle of Halo’, which consists of gun-type weapons, grenades and others. In actuality, this was not new to one-person, shoot-em-up games, as it had existed since the very first Doom and even the predecessor to that game, Wolfenstein.

So, with all of that previous history, people were full of anticipation and excitement over the Halo 3 release date. How popular and welcome was the game? Well, before its release, 3.1 million copies were sold in advance orders and retailers were sure that that was insufficient.

The game took over $300 million gross in the United States in only the first seven days. Overall, it has sold over nine million copies worldwide and was the best-selling video game in the USA in 2007. Even the critics liked it, ranking it the seventh highest in the list of Xbox 360 all-time great games.

The Halo 3 release date, like the release date of many wildly popular video games was almost like a national holiday like Christmas or Easter. It leaves us with the question of just what will happen in the realm of video games in the near future?

Halo 3

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Recently while searching the Internet for information on the Halo 3 weapons cheats, I came across a number of what-if scenarios? What if Master Chief took on different famous characters from movies, comic books, and legends? Here is a list of some of these battles and my idea of the result.

Although it is technically not a Halo 3 weapon cheat, the contest between Master Chief versus Robocop would be hot. According to the information on the Internet both have some similarities. They’re both human, they’ve both been enhanced, they both have amazing armour and they are both veteran combatants. Most respondents predicted that Master Chief would beat Robocop, but let’s face facts here, Master Chief can be defeated with a pistol, whereas Robocop was still going after being blown up at a petrol station. The victor has to be Robocop.

If Master Chief took on the next fighter he would need to have a Halo 3 weapon cheat. The next is MacGyver. Master Chief has a lot of advantages. He is proficient with a number of weapons; he has that fantastic armour; he has some incredible vehicles at his disposal; he’s a Clint Eastwood type loner and he can repair himself. However, in short, MacGyver is brain over brawn. It would probably boil down to the same considerations in a fight between Batman and Superman. However, if it’s a closed arena where it’s man versus man, Master Chief is going to win. But put this battle in the real world with Swiss army knives and plastic tape at his disposal, and MacGyver’s going to wipe the floor with our bionic friend.

So far Master Chief is 2-0 down, it’s beginning to look like he could really use a Halo 3 weapon cheat. But let’s give him another chance. This time it’s Master Chief versus Terminator. We already know Master Chief’s powers, the Terminator’s consist of an ability to master any weapon, relentless willpower, doesn’t get tired, amazing detrermination to kill his prey. It all comes down to the Spartan laser weapon. As one respondent said, if Master Chief can destroy vehicles with this weapon he can certainly put a sizeable hole in the Terminator too.

OK, let’s have another contest before Master Chief discovers his Halo 3 weapon cheat. How can he do in battle against Boba Fett from Star Wars? The major differences between Master Chief and Boba Fett are that Boba has no shield, owns his own ship and has a jet pack (wow).

Many people believe Star Wars comes out on top in this battle, but Master Chief’s weapons are much more powerful than those shown by the bounty hunter. This one makes it two all, Master Chief goes 50-50.

So, those are the results of the survey – the people have spoken. In this small poll that we found on the Internet, Master Chief is your average type of super hero, who is not guaranteed to win every single fight, unless he finds his weapon cheats or the story writers want him to, that is.

Home Theater Lighting

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Light fixtures are things that not many of us think about very often. However, the way we light a room can cause us to feel a certain way or enhance the atmosphere we want to create in that room. There are many types of light fixtures, fittings, bulbs, shades and stands to suit all areas of the home. That means both indoors and even outdoors where you might want to emphasize some special landscaping design.

Are you planning to redo a room? In this case, I know it concerns a home movie theater room, because my friend, Owen Jones, asked me to give some advice. I definitely think that you should consider light fixtures as one element to change. For instance, you could start by altering the central, overhead incandescent bulb or tube light for sure.

I suggest that you install four or even six small wall-lights. They need not be expensive and come in hundreds of colours and sizes to suit any purse. The only disadvantage of wall lighting for your home theater, is that the wires should really be chased into the wall so as not to be visible.

However, you could get around this by buying standard lamps. These are also available in a myriad of designs, but they come with two disadvantages: namely trailing wires and a higher cost. They are very easily moveable though. Small, table lamps is a sub-class of this alternative, but you may need more electrical sockets.

Once you have decided on what you want, have each lamp dimmable either in unison or separately, up to you. You should probably keep one fairly powerful light at the business end of things in case the equipment needs seeing to, but it too could be on a dimmer.

The effect can be quite incredible. And all from just changing the pre-existing light fixtures and fittings. You could even increase the level of reality and have an exit sign over the door or a few romantic mood lamps higher up out of line of sight so that they are not distracting, say, a replica 1970s style lunar lamp and a fibre-optic lamp, for amusement or as a talking point while waiting for the film or snacks to be got ready.

So, whatever style home theater lighting you are considering, contemporary or old style traditional, you will find many options to choose from. From different colors to different sizes and styles, there are many. You can find them on the Internet or in home improvement shops. I have made a link to one of my online favourites below.

Furthermore, when you do implement the changes, you will notice that your home theater has taken on an ambiance all of its own and it will “definitely” enhance your home movie theater experience. In fact, it may be these subtle changes, room by room, that make you see your home in a very different light.

Home Movie Theater Projectors

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Going to the movies is a very popular recreation especially for those young professionals living a considerably stressful life running corporate affairs. However, for those who cannot afford to waste time traveling to and from movie theaters, the answer to this recreational dilemma might be just inside their own house.

Why not recreate the visual and sound systems of the movie theaters with your very own custom home theater system? The best custom home theater set up certainly can include high quality components that are capable of recreating the entire movie theater experience without having to drive from your house to the movie theater spending time and effort waiting in heavy traffic. This modern technology can give you the relaxation and experience that full-sized movie theaters provide.

The basic components: a wide screen and loudspeakers with clear and flicker free images from a high quality DVD, can easily create quite an authentic movie-going experience. Home theater professionals recommend that before you choose the final set-up and equipment for your custom home theater system, the dimensions of the room must be the first thing to think about.

Therefore, if you have a small size room in mind for your home theater system, a television set may be best placed in the center of one wall and three speakers, placed on the left, right and center, could be enough to create the surround sound you desire from a custom movie theater. However, if you have a larger room, a home theater projector might be the better bet for recreating that big screen experience.

Home theater projector screens can provide an authentic movie theater experience. If you have a very rather room for your home theater system, in conjunction with your home theater projector and home theater projector screen, you could add some more loudspeakers around the room. Another useful tip is that a sub-woofer may also help to provide the optimum surround sound to allow you to produce that true sound of a movie theater in your own living room.

There are various designs and models of home theater projector you can choose from. You will need to understand the features of each one, before you decide on which one to buy. It may also be necessary for you to enlist the services of a home theater designer in order to get the home theater package that will give you the best entertainment. This will mean not needing to spend an unreasonable amount of time and money on your home theater system and home theater projector.

It is very easy to buy equipment with more capacity than you need for your home theater, especially if you not acquainted with the possible choices and the various requirements that your home theater may have due to the room’s measurements. The diagonal width of your home theater projector screen should be a function of the size of your custom home theater and the equipment in your custom home theater. For example, from where you intend to sit to the screen should be between two and five times the diameter of the screen. Therefore, looking at it another way, if you want to sit 10 feet (120 inches) from the screen, then the screen should be 24-60 inches, but it is subject to personal preference and depends on the viewers eyesight.

Your home theater expert might also propose options for your home theater that may not include a television set. Why? The reason for this is the technological innovations employed by computers and home theater projectors. Home theater projectors like InFocus screenplay models, for example, can be hooked up with a computer in a small room set-up. Home theater projectors are also lightweight and can be transported effortlessly. Therefore, a projector is very useful for employment in custom home theaters and business presentations.

Home theater projectors and home theater projector screens do help provide a true cinematic experience. This type of installation is particularly handy for business presentations and therefore it is becoming ever more in demand. This combination of your custom home and custom office theater systems is a brand new phenomenon, which only a few smart customers have dreamt up.

I am sure that being aware of all these facts: that is, that a basic television, three speakers and a DVD player can be enough for those people who only want a start-up home theater, you may well come to the conclusion that you do not really require a home theater projector, especially if the room set aside for your custom home theater system is not that big.

You can enjoy a cinematic experience right there in your own home by considering your options carefully. You can then experience the relaxation a movie theater can provide without having to put up with boring traffic jams on the way back and fore to the movie theater.

Teeth Whitening System: The Opalescence System

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

People like their teeth to be both pearly and white. It may sound lame but it is true. People love to have beautiful teeth. One might even say that people are particularly vain concerning their teeth. This is because when meeting people, the teeth are usually the first thing to get noticed. We smile in order to show people that we are friendly. There are even people who rely on their smiles in order to make a living. These are the reasons behind the popularity of such products as the Opalescence teeth whitening system.

The Opalescence teeth whitening system lets people take the system home and do the whitening themselves. This might seem like a lot of work for some people, but for others, it is convenience. These days, people just do not have the time to go to the dentist for teeth whitening. Others choose to get a suntan instead of having their teeth whitened. This is why the Opalescence teeth whitening system is so popular. Convenience is definitely one of the things that people look for today.

What method does the Opalescence teeth whitening system use? Well, first of all, you ought to know that the Opalescence teeth whitening system is a professional-grade bleaching product. This means that it should be able to whiten your teeth faster than many other over the counter teeth whitening systems. The reason for this is the fact that OTC teeth whitening systems contain only about 3 to 10 percent hydrogen peroxide, whereas the Opalescence teeth whitening system is 38 percent hydrogen peroxide.

Although most teeth whitening products require the use of a bleaching light in order to ‘activate’ the product, the Opalescence teeth whitening system is the first product which say the use of the light as ‘optional’. People like this because it is often the case that the cost of the bleaching light is undeniably higher than the cost of the actual product itself. Another relevant fact is that lately, many dentists are finding out that ’studies’ regarding the use of bleaching lights seldom prove that the light is necessary activate the hydrogen peroxide at all.

Although you can take the Opalescence teeth whitening system home and do it yourself, it is still advisable that you get a professional to whiten your teeth for you. This is because the Opalescence teeth whitening system works best when in the hands of a professional, experienced user. It takes about 90 minutes from preparation to the completion of the procedure. That’s it! Just ninety minutes and you have whiter teeth!

Besides giving you bright, white teeth, the opalescence teeth whitening system also gives you other benefits. While some teeth bleaching systems may give you sensitive teeth and thus, forever deny you the pleasure of eating ice cream, the opalescence teeth whitening system actually minimizes sensitivity. This means that you do not have to sacrifice the pleasure of eating certain foods in order to have a great smile.

A further complaint that people have about common bleaching agents is that they frequently cause teeth to become liable to cavities. However, the opalescence teeth whitening system actually strengthens the enamel, making it harder and decreases the likelihood of cavities.

The opalescence teeth whitening system offers great benefits to anyone who uses the it. You will get brighter, whiter teeth in a convenient and painless way. So why are you waiting?

Halo 3 Modification

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Usually, a Halo 3 mod is considered to be any software modification that alters the game play in the very popular video game for the Xbox 360, Halo 3. But the terminology also includes many other modifications, such as hardware changes made to the Xbox 360 console to show the world that you are a hard-core Halo 3 fanatic.

However, before someone can create a Halo 3 mod, they need the right tools, together with some technical knowledge. These tools usually include a number of bits of software that allow people to de-construct, edit, and reconstruct Halo 3 files. It would also involve some hardware to allow the Xbox 360 hard drive to be read into a PC and the files to be downloaded to that hard drive.

This is necessary because the Xbox 360 is not a unit on which files can be altered. In the past, the hardware developers, in this case Microsoft, would make the tools available to people who paid the licensing fee. But over time, especially with Halo 3 mods, the public has developed several tools and techniques to achieve what needs to be done for modification.

A Halo 3 mod also includes, as written earlier, physical changes to the Xbox 360 console. Some people, for example, remove the case and actually carve the words ‘Halo 3′ into it. They might also accompany this by painting the console red, blue or green to match the colour of the armour of the characters in the game.

However, it’s a pretty extreme way to say to the world – I love Halo 3 – in that it could cause actual damage that renders the Xbox 360 unplayable. People often display their altered Xbox 360s on photo-sharing sites such as Flickr and when they go toattend live LAN events.

One of the things that people who are fanatical about the world of the Halo 3 mod try to focus on is that the mods should not be created for the purpose of cheating. Modifications are fun to get a new aspect on Halo 3 play or a new look for certain levels. But if they’re used to make the game unfair in favour of one person or team, they ruin the overall game experience for everyone.

One website where a person can find many a Halo 3 mod is H3mod.com. The site calls itself the ‘future of Halo modding’. It seems like a good place to start if you really want to learn about a Halo 3 mod.

Teeth Whitening Products

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Choosing teeth whitening products from the different teeth whitening products there are on the market these days can be quite difficult. However, some of these teeth whitening products do not produce the desired results.

If you were to ask the experts, they would tell you that the best method of teeth whitening is still obtainable through your dentist. Not only is it the best, but it is also the most effective and the quickest way to have whiter teeth.

But then, not everyone can afford the costs that come with each treatment. Another thing that deters them from visiting to dentists is fear. It seems that in early childhood, dentists are one of the most feared professions and that children just do not want to have to meet them. This fear goes on into adult life.

Although dentists do not recommend people to choose teeth whitening products, they all agree that some of these products are effective to a degree. According to many studies, most teeth whitening products can result in whiter teeth that can out perform any procedure supplled by your dentist, if used regularly and consistently.

Another bonus that teeth whitening products have, is that they contain the same ingredients that are used in professional whitening. Two of the active ingredients needed for whitening teeth are hydrogen peroxide and carbamide. These two products are also the ingredients that are present in some of the products that are sold in everyday grocery stores and drug stores.

The only advantage that teeth whitening products have over professional whitening is that they are very cheap. Everyone who finds out about them can afford to add them to their list of basic shopping items.

Many of these products can be had for $30 or less. Compare this with the $100 or more that you need to pay at the dentists. It will not surprise you that people prefer them over the high fees. Still, teeth whitening products are found to have some disadvantages. Some of which are:

1. Suitability. Teeth whitening products cater to all types of teeth, it is true, but then different people have different requirements. What some people find to be effective may not work for others. This is one of the problems that people will encounter with these ‘home’ products.

There are those who have sensitive teeth and gums. Reaction to the products will depend upon the suitability of the products to the persons using them. An option would be to try different products until you find the one that suits you.

2. Strong Chemicals Used. You will not know what your reaction to any given chemical will be until you have tried it out. As you do not know how sensitive your teeth are, you will also not know what will happen until you begin using the product. It is wiser to consult with your dentist before selecting any product at all.

3. Tray may not fit. The tray used in your mouth is not exactly right to you, so there is a tendency that it may either be too big or too small.

If it is too big, the formula may not work so well. On the other hand, if it is too small, it could cause gum bleeding and other side effects that could cause bigger problems. Be sure that the teeth whitening precuts you choose are right for you. If none of them works, then maybe professional teeth whitening would be better for you.

Home Movie Theater: Screens

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

When it comes to choosing a projection or TV screen, the first thing to think about is the kind of screen you want or even may need. If the room where you are setting up your home movie theater is a big one, then you will need to have a home theater projection screen or maybe you just want to go down that route anyway.

I, personally, like the idea of having a drop-down screen, but sometimes you have to have one even in a modest home theater. It converts your living room into a home theater: you recline in your chair; click a button and a screen drops down; click a button and the lights dim; click another one and the movie begins!

However, if you prefer a television screen, then you might be considering buying a new one. They say that a 27 inch screen is big enough, but I do not think it is. I think you need 48-60 inches, but then I’m a baby-boomer and my eyes are definitely not what they were.

If you are buying a new TV for your home theater, I think you should aim high. HDTV is upon us and since February 2009 the USA is committed to High Definition. So, I would make sure that your new TV is capable of receiving it. Then I suggest that the new home theater screen be a flat one to reduce the annoying glare that could ruin the experience. (This could be another reason for opting for a projection screen).

Then you should ensure that the new television has enough input and output sockets for the equipment you plan to use and youre done. So, to summarize, I would go for:

More than a 27 inch screen

A flat screen

HDTV compliant

Enough input and output plugs and sockets

Satellite enabled

I recommend satellite compatibility because it is probably the future or near future at least. If you get a satellite TV connection you will have access to HDTV downloads which you can watch whenever you like.
